TMEA High School All Region Audition & Results Update
On Saturday October 2nd the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 24 High School Orchestra auditions took place at Independence High School. (To learn all about TMEA read our previous Latest News Post).
When you walk into a TMEA audition you are met with quite a sight - for each audition time slot, there will be around 150 students from Frisco, Little Elm, McKinney and Prosper High Schools, all warming up ahead of their audition. Needless to say it’s a wall of sound that hits you even before you get through the doors!
This year FCA Frisco had 10 students auditioning in total, 9 for Strings (open to 9th through 12th grade students but not eligible for the All State Track) and 1 student, Julia Mukaida our 9th grade harp player who was auditioning for the Symphony/Chamber Orchestra (open to 9th to 12th grade students with the opportunity for the top placed students to progress to all area and from there potentially to all state).
Julia Mukaida was awarded 3rd chair out of the 14 harp players auditioning for the all state track. This is a truly outstanding achievement for a 9th grade student. Julia will advance to the all area auditions. We wish her the very best of luck in those auditions!
Charles Borders was awarded 5th chair in the Strings cello auditions and will participate in the TMEA All Region Strings Concert. This is also a wonderful achievement for a 9th grade student. Congratulations to Charles also!
GO GRIFFINS!!!
All our FCA Frisco students auditioning did an amazing job and we are SO very proud of all of them for taking part and representing our school so very well!
